Stratford-upon-Avon is a popular tourist town with it's historic connection to Shakespeare. There is plenty to do and see in Stratford from visiting Ann Hathaway's cottage to a trip on the Avon riverboats. There are plenty of tourist buses to take in the sights or you can just wander around and take in the sights yourself.

Stratford-upon-Avon also boasts an excellent shopping area and a well established market area in Rother Street. This market has been established since King Richard granted a charter in 1196 and was originally a cattle market. Rother is an Anglo Saxon word for cattle with long horns and this is depicted in the Rother Street Market sign.

The general market is held every Friday and the Farmer's Market is the 1st and 3rd Saturday of each month.

On the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of the month you will find plenty of stalls with a wide variety of antique and collectable items, and stallholders who know a lot about the items they are selling. The setting is that of a continental antiques market with stalls in a horseshoe shape and antiques spilling into the centre of the area. It is very easy to look around all of the stalls and you may find an unusual item, or something a little different as part of your day out.

As well as selling some of the stallholders will also buy antique and collectable items which you no longer want and if you ask for Antiques2Go - look for the poster and flyers - we can point you in the direction of a likely buyer, or can even book items into one of our auctions for you - as far as we know we offer the cheapest auction costs in Northampton.
